Help Us Obey Christ and Love Others

As we announced on Sunday, our students are working hard to raise ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS for World Vision, 100% of which will go to provide clean water, food and basic medical supplies to places and groups of people who need it most! We must raise all of this moneyby Friday August 19th- the date of our 30 Hour Famine. Our guys and girls are engaging in a friendly competition to see which gender can raise the most money so support your youth and participate in these events, or help us by spreading the word!

The girls are accepting orders for a pre-order bake sale. These ladies are some great bakers and decorators, so whatever it is that your taste buds crave, they can whip it up! If you don't have a chance to sign up on the order forms at the church, just email me atchelsea@ombchurch.org and let me know what it is you want! All orders will be prepared and delivered on Sunday August 14th at the morning service.

The girls are also hosting a giant garage sale at the church on Saturday August 13th from 8 am- 2 pm or until they run out (that's this Saturday!)! If you have any unwanted items in your home or garage, bring them by the church this week- OR let me know and we'll get a truck out to take it off your hands. If you're in the market for a bargain, grab your friends and visit our sale! It will be on the front porch of the church.

The girls are also available for babysitting, of which all their earnings will go to World Vision- just email me and I can set it up for you!

The guys will be holding a slave auction following the morning service on Sunday August 14th. The highest bidder wins three hours of hard work and elbow grease doing whatever you need on a scheduled date. I've seen these guys at work and they are efficient workers- moving, mowing and weedeating, pulling weeds, washing cars, etc I suggest if you need anything done around your home or yard, let these guys battle the heat while you sip lemonade in the AC. There will be 8 guys available for auction (all of which are strong and willing to serve) so make sure you grab a close seat and bid high!

We appreciate all of the support that this church body has poured in to our group. The difference in these fundraisers and the ones in the past are that none of this money will go to our benefit. All of it is going to help the poor, hungry and impoverished. All of these funds are fulfilling Christ's commandments to love the least of these.

The verses we've been rallying around are these: "But if anyone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need and refuses to help- how can God's love be in that person? Dear children, let us stop saying that we love each other- let us really show it by our actions..." 1 John 3:17-18
