Autumn Soups to Keep You Warm

I'm sad to admit that there hasn't been a lot of cooking going on over here recently. Living alone, working at a food truck park (which is awesome), and having a very limited budget have basically reduced most of my meals to protein bars, sandwiches, salads, and breakfast-y items like scrambled eggs or pancakes.

But I wanted to share with you some previously published and very delicious soups as you delve into the chilly fall weather!

No photo, but still one of my favorites. It's probably the most low maintenance recipe on here!

I would love for you to send me links to recipes for your favorite soups!

Food Inspiration

I love cooking.

It makes me feel grounded
and gives a sense of routine.

But at the same
I feel creative
innovative
and artistic.

I'll be out for a week and won't be doing any cooking,
so here's my inspiration for when I return.
You can check out more on my Pinterest boards!

Breakfast

these would be a perfect alternative to other preservative and
sweetener laden grab and go breakfast options!

Doesn't that sound so flavorful? This would be perfect for a
day off brunch, or even for dinner one day!

Oh man, this sounds good. LOVE the apple+brie combo.

Entrees

This recipe is super simple and healthy! Plus, I am lacking on seafood cooking experience. This looks like a great place to start.

I really like lettuce wraps and am opening myself up to meatless entrees
If Pioneer Woman vouches for tofu, it's got to be worth a try!

Another meatless option, but it sounds so rich and creamy and delicious!
I've never made a lasagna from scratch- Stouffer's has always been my go-to.
I'm excited to try this out!

Desserts

Oreos baked inside of brownies. Seriously.

We had 90 degree temperatures in Austin this past week. Definitely time to start looking at some frozen treats! Push pops are such a fun throwback with some more mature flavors.

How cool is this for Easter?
I'm not a huge fan of Peeps or jelly beans
but everybody loves cupcakes!!
It's looks a little labor intensive, I think it's a pretty cool outcome.

Anything look good to you?
What inspires you?

Inspired

A few things inspiring me this week:

Intentionally taking a Sabbath day of rest, which was my Saturday this past week,
since Sundays I'm running around doing my job.
The renewal physically and spiritually has been wonderful!

I am inspired by my God.
Jesus is so good!

(my Children's Church kiddos, obviously all paying close attention!)

Having a full time job is inspiring me to manage my time better so that I can get all of the youth and children's church responsibilities taken care of and go do something fun (or meaningful) with them!

And, it sounds silly, but beautiful and delicious food inspires me
to cook and create and enjoy the tastes and textures
I'm so grateful for a creative God who gave us taste and smell
( and a spirit of self control ;) )

Here are some recipes on my list-
hopefully I'll be reporting back with recipes for you to try!

What's inspiring you this week?

Best of 2011

2011 brought many changes, celebrations and opportunities.

I began blogging regularly this year.

I graduated from the University of Texas.

I worked at Hey Cupcake for six months.

We've had all kinds of fun, and spiritual breakthroughs, in our youth group.

And I accepted a full time position as the youth minister at OMBC.

It's been a good year.
